RECIPIENTS OF OUREI FUNDING |

OUREI presents a list of those individuals and organizations that have received funding from OUREI. A decision to grant funding to an organization or individual is made after OUREI advisors have an opportunity to review and evaluate the merits of a proposal submitted to OUREI. Disbursal of funds occurs once the recipient agrees to the terms of the grant.
May 2005– US$1,000—Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme– for educational materials to enhance their library.
August 2005– US$500—Patrick Rouxel of Tawak Pictures—for informal education outreach in Sumatra.
December 2005– US$650—Sumatran Orangutan Society– for Indonesian forestry student tuition and internship program (4-years). Called the Orangutan Caring Scholarship, it was awarded to Syarifah Lia Andriaty on March 6, 2006 .
January 2006– US$1,000— Club Peduli Orang Utan Indonesia—for institutional strengthening to develop initial programs in Jakarta.
April 2006— US$500– Sumatran Orangutan Society—for support of educational outreach during the Orangutan Festival at Simbolangit, Sumatra.
April 2006—US$2,500—IndoChroma—for producing PSAs and video documentary of OUREI Ambassador Angelina Sondakh during a 5-day visit to Sumatra.
June 2006—US$1,000—Gail Angela Campbell-Smith—for support of research into human-orangutan conflict in N. Sumatra. To be awarded in September 2006 as recipient of LP Jenkins Memorial Fellowship, 2006. |
