About the Orangutan Caring Ecotours.
Established in 2023, the Orangutan Caring Ecotours (OCE) provides a unique opportunity to experience the wonders of nature while contributing to the conservation of orangutans and their habitat. By partnering with the Orang Utan Republik Foundation (OURF), OCE dedicates its tour programs to support the Orangutan Caring Scholarship (OCS) program, which empowers Indonesian students pursuing degrees in fields related to orangutan conservation. Embark on an unforgettable journey through Tanjung Puting National Park, located in Central Kalimantan, and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Borneo jungle.
The Itinerary:
- Day 1: Arrival in Jakarta
Upon your arrival in Jakarta, our friendly team will greet you at the airport and transfer you to the FM7 Resort hotel. Take some time to relax and prepare for the adventure ahead. - Day 2: Jakarta - Tanjung Puting National Park (TPNP)
Fly to Pangkalan Bun with NAM Air and embark on a remarkable journey to Tanjung Puting National Park. Upon arrival, head to Kumai Port and board the Klotok, a traditional wooden boat. As we gently cruise along the Sekonyer river, savor the breathtaking scenery and keep an eye out for wildlife. All meals will be provided on board. - Day 3: TPNP (Tanjung Harapan)
Awaken to the soothing sounds of the Borneo jungle and embark on a jungle trekking adventure in Tanjung Harapan. Immerse yourself in the lush surroundings and witness the remarkable biodiversity of the area. Later, visit the orangutan feeding station at Tanjung Harapan, where you can observe these magnificent creatures up close. Enjoy delicious meals throughout the day. - Day 4: TPNP (Pondok Tanggui & Camp Leakey)
Start the day with a delightful breakfast on the Klotok, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature. Cruise to Pondok Tanggui and witness the morning orangutan feeding time, a truly magical experience. Continue to Camp Leakey, a renowned research center, where you will have the opportunity to observe more orangutans during the afternoon feeding session. Spend the night in the Camp Leakey area, surrounded by the enchanting wilderness. All meals will be provided. - Day 5: TPNP - Tanjung Harapan
Return to Tanjung Harapan and visit Desa Sekonyer to gain insights into the lives of local communities residing within Tanjung Puting National Park. Experience the rich culture and traditions of the region. Spend the night at Rimba Ecolodge, a beautiful retreat nestled in the heart of the park. Indulge in delectable meals highlighting Indonesian cuisine. - Day 6: TPNP - Pangkalan Bun
Cruise back to Kumai Port, bidding farewell to the majestic Tanjung Puting National Park. Travel to Pangkalan Bun, where you will embark on a city tour and spend the night at Mercure Hotel. Enjoy meals that showcase the flavors of the region. - Day 7: Pangkalan Bun - Jakarta
Catch an early morning flight with Batik Air back to Jakarta. If you wish to extend your stay, you can choose to spend an additional night at FM7 Resort Hotel.
