The Community Conservation & Mentorship Initiative (CCMI) was initiated in 2025 by YSHL to strengthen locally led conservation by supporting emerging community- and women-led organizations with mentorship, practical tools, and sustained guidance. Building on years of field experience, CCMI focuses on strengthening leadership and institutions so conservation efforts can endure.
Across Indonesia, grassroots groups—often led by women—are on the front lines of protecting forests and wildlife, yet they frequently lack access to long-term mentorship and peer learning. CCMI helps close this gap through capacity building and collaborative problem-solving grounded in local knowledge and culture.
By investing in people, governance, and shared learning, CCMI helps communities build lasting conservation impact—for healthier forests, protected wildlife, and resilient local leadership.
