The Orang Utan Republik Foundation (OURF), in partnership with Orangutan Odysseys, invites you to take part in a once-in-a-lifetime Educational Ecotour to Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, from June 21–28, 2026.
This exclusive journey will be co-hosted by Dr. Gary Shapiro, President of OURF and pioneering orangutan researcher, and Jack Dalton (the Kid Conservationist), a youth conservation leader dedicated to inspiring the next generation. Together, they will guide you into the heart of Borneo to learn about orangutans, their forest homes, and the people working to protect them.
What to Expect
Field Visits to Key Conservation Sites
Explore the Blok Khusus (formerly Mawas Reserve), home to wild orangutans and critical peat swamp forest. Visit and overnight at the Tuanan Orangutan Research Station, where scientists have been studying orangutan behavior and ecology for decades making amazing discoveries. Venture into part of the largest wetlands area on Borneo- the Sebangau National Park and ecosystem, an important peatlands area with incredible biodiversity and massive carbon-storage value.Behind-the-Scenes Access
Learn about rehabilitation and release programs at the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation’s managed islands, where rescued orangutans prepare for life back in the wild.Engaging Educational Experiences
